Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers netted his first career NHL hat trick on Saturday the 19th of November 2016.  

He scored 3 goals on 4 shots in leading the Oilers to a 5-2 victory.

Drafted 31st overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins (13th pick of the 2nd round)
the first US born player drafted in 1975


Played 1976 -1981 with the Penguins before being traded to the Hartford Whalers on December 29th 1981 for Rick MacLeish.
Spent the rest of the 1981-82 season with Hartford and the entire 1982-83 season before being released in the offseason.  He signed with the LA Kings for the 1983-84 season, after being sent to New Haven in the AHL for 6 games in 1984 he returned to finish the 1984-85 season with the Kings.

He appeared in 519 games with 22 goals, 99 assists, 121 points and 1086 penalty minutes
