1929 Stanley Cup
Today in 1929 the Boston Bruins completed a 2 game sweep of the New York Rangers for the Stanley Cup in a best of 3 series. Goalie Cecil ""Tiny"" Thompson backstopped the Bruins to consecutive wins, and posted the third Stanley Cup shutout for a rookie and the first Stanley Cup championship for the Bruins.
