Henrik Sedin scores for 1,000th Point

Henrik Sedin gathers a pass from his twin brother, Daniel, and uses a nifty move to beat Roberto Luongo for the 1,000th point of his NHL career.  He is the first Vancouver Canuck to reach the 1000 point mark.

Today in NHL History (March 29th)

1970 
Tony Esposito (Chicago Black Hawks) recorded his 15th shutout. It was an NHL record for rookie goalies and the most shut outs in the modern era.  Tony would win the Calder as Rookie of the Year and Vezina Trophy for 1970.




2013
Jaromir Jagr (Dallas Stars) scored is 1,000th assist in a game against the Minnesota Wild. He was the 12th NHL player to reach 1,000 points and the first non-Canadian NHL player to reach the mark.

Today in NHL History (March 24th)

March 24th 1992

Mario Lemieux (Pittsburgh Penguins) scored his 1000th career point in his 513th game. He was the second fastest player in the NHL to record 1000 points. 
Mario finished the season with 131 points and won the Art Ross Trophy.  He would lead the Penguins to their 2nd straight Stanley Cup championship and win the Conn Smythe trophy as the playoff MVP.

He was only the third NHL defenseman to score 1,000 career points.
