Senators retire Alfredsson's No. 11 Jersey

The Senators honor Daniel Alfredsson by retiring his No. 11 to the rafters at Canadian Tire Centre, December 29th 2016.
 He is the modern Senators career leader in Goals (426), Assists (682), Points (1108), Shots (3320) and Hat Tricks (8).

Patrick Kane notches 700th point 12/29/16

Patrick Kane skates down the right wing to the circle and buries a wrister to give the Blackhawks the lead, notching his 700th career point.  He is 6th in Blackhawks history in points, 79 behind Doug Wilson at #5.

Guy Lafleur and Steve Shutt of the Montreal Canadiens score their 500th and 400th career goal, respectively, in a 6-0 rout of the New Jersey Devils at Byrne Meadowlands Arena in New Jersey.
During the game against the Devils on December 20th,1983, Shutt took a pass from Ryan Walter in the second period and faked Devils’ goalkeeper "Chico" Resch to the right to score his 400th career goal and put Montreal up 3-0. Lafleur scored his own milestone goal at 8:34 into the third period, taking a rising shot from about 30 feet away to beat Resch. With the shot, Lafleur became only the 10th player in the history of the NHL to score 500 goals.

the first US born player drafted in 1975


Played 1976 -1981 with the Penguins before being traded to the Hartford Whalers on December 29th 1981 for Rick MacLeish.
Spent the rest of the 1981-82 season with Hartford and the entire 1982-83 season before being released in the offseason.  He signed with the LA Kings for the 1983-84 season, after being sent to New Haven in the AHL for 6 games in 1984 he returned to finish the 1984-85 season with the Kings.

He appeared in 519 games with 22 goals, 99 assists, 121 points and 1086 penalty minutes

Jaromir Jagr 750th Goal

Jaromir Jagr joined Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe as the only players in NHL history to have 750 or more career goals.
He netted his 750th against the Washington Capitals in a 4-2 loss.  
Jagr is far and away the active leader in goal scoring with Jarome Inginla 2nd among active players with 612.

He led he Houston Aeros to the Avco Cup Championship by winning 12 games and losing 1.  The Aeros lost one game in the quarter finals to Cleveland but then swept the San Diego Mariners in the semi-finals and the Quebec Nordiques in the Avco Cup final.
