First Star of the Week is New York Islanders' forward John Tavares. Tavares scored 6 goals and 1 assist for a total of 7 points in 3 games. He scored a hat trick vs. the Arizona Coyotes and the Nashville Predators

Second Star of the Week is Vegas Golden Knights' goalie Oscar Dansk. Dansk went 2-0 with a 1.00 goals-againstaverage and a .968 save percentage and a shutout. 

Third Star of the Week is Ottawa Senators forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau. Pageau scored 1 goal and 5 assist for 6 points in 3 games.

James Neal scored twice, including a power-play goal, in the Golden Knights' 5-2 victory in their home opener against the Arizona Coyotes.
The Golden Knights are the first NHL expansion team to start their inaugural season 3-0.

Martin Brodeur (NJ Devils) led the NHL in wins 9 times between 1998 and 2010. In the 2006/2007 season he set the NHL record for most wins in a season with 48 and led the Devils to the Atlantic division title and 2nd overall in the Eastern Conference.
He now shares the wins record with Braden Holtby of the Capitals who tied him in the 2015/16 season.

Crosby won the Richard Trophy with 44 goals, the fewest since 2004 (excluding the lockout shortened 2012-13 season).


McDavid netted 100 points and is the 2nd Oiler to win the Ross Trophy (along with Wayne Gretzky) and the only player to get 100 in the 2016-17 season.
