Game 3 - Islanders vs Rangers

April 11th 1975

The upstart New York Islanders in just their third season shock the hockey world and the rival New York Rangers by winning the decisive third game of the Stanley Cup preliminary series at Madison Square Garden on an overtime goal by J.P. Parise after just 11 seconds of the first extra period. This is the entire game broadcast as aired over the Islanders station WMCA 570-AM in New York. The broadcast team are play-by-play man Dom Valentino and color commentator Jim Garvey. The tape includes commercials as well as an interesting between periods interview with baseball Hall of Famer and big hockey fan Phil Rizzuto.

Boston vs Chicago 1978 Stanley Cup Quarterfinals

Radio highlights from the first three games of the Boston Bruins v.s. Chicago Blackhawks 1978 Stanley Cup quarterfinal series from the original broadcasts: WBZ 1030-AM Boston with Bob Wilson and WCFL 1000-AM Chicago with Ron Oakes. The Bruins took opener in the series, 6-1, at Boston Garden, but the Hawks fought hard and forced the next two games to overtime.
