1975 Stanley Cup Preliminary Series 

Game 3 - Islanders vs Rangers

April 11th 1975

The upstart New York Islanders in just their third season shock the hockey world and the rival New York Rangers by winning the decisive third game of the Stanley Cup preliminary series at Madison Square Garden on an overtime goal by J.P. Parise after just 11 seconds of the first extra period. This is the entire game broadcast as aired over the Islanders station WMCA 570-AM in New York. The broadcast team are play-by-play man Dom Valentino and color commentator Jim Garvey. The tape includes commercials as well as an interesting between periods interview with baseball Hall of Famer and big hockey fan Phil Rizzuto.

The 1974-75 Atlanta Flames

The leading scorer for the Flames was Tom Lysiak 
25 goals, 52 assist for 77 points.

The Flames finished last in the Patrick division 
with a record of 34-31-15.
Head coach was Bernie Geoffrion (fired at midseason) 
replaced by Fred Creighton
