Sweden defeats Canada 2-1 in a shootout to win the 2017 World Championship

1955 World Ice Hockey Champions

The Penticton V's represented Canada in the 1955 World Ice Hockey championships held in Dusseldorf, Dortmund, Krefeld, and Cologne, West Germany,

The V's went 8-0 and defeated the Soviets in the final game (5-0) to claim Canada's 16th international championship.

2002 - Canada defeats the United States 5-2 to win the men's ice hockey Olympic Gold Medal


1960 - US beats Germany in Olympic hockey finals round, 9-1
Team USA would not lose a game in the Gold Medal Round. This was the second win in the final round. Up next would be the heavy favorite Canada.


1980 - USA Olympic hockey team defeated Finland, 4-2, to win the gold medal
