March 18th 2019 Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos tips a shot home in front of the net for his 384th goal with the team, breaking the Tampa Bay goal record previously held by Vincent Lecavalier
Tampa Bay Lightning's Steven Stamkos rips a shot past Henrik Lundqvist while falling down, his 700th point, and second goal of the game to tie the New York Rangers.
The winner of the 2011-2012 Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy is Steve Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning with 60 goals.
This is his second Richard Trophy, he won his first in 2010.
Steven Stamkos of the TB Lightning scored his 60th goal tonight in the final game of the 2011-12 regular season. He is the first player with 60 goals since Alex Ovechkin scored did in the 2008-2009 season.
The Ted Lindsay Award is in its 2nd year with the NHLPA and NHL. Formerly the Lester B Pearson Award since its beginning in 1971, this was changed in 2010 to reflect the contribution to the founding of the NHL Players Association Union by Ted Lindsay, the legendary Detroit Red Wings player Ted Lindsay.
The Award has been won the last 3 years by Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals. Wayne Gretzky has won it the most times (5) followed by Mario Lemieux (4).
This year the nominees for the award are:
Corey Perry (Anaheim) - The 2011 Rocket Richard Trophy winner for league leader in goals Daniel Sedin (Vancouver) - The 2011 Art Ross Trophy winner for league leader in points Steven Stamkos (Tampa Bay)-2010 winner of the Hart Trophy as the league MVP.
This years Rocket Richard Trophy race ended in a tie between Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steve Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning with 51 goals.
This year had the fewest goals for the winner(s) since 2004 when 3 men (Jarome Iginla,Rick Nash and Ilya Kovalchuk) tied for the trophy with 41 goals.
The 2 time defending Richard trophy winner Alexander Ovechkin finished runner up with 50 goals.
